Our goats were left to themselves yesterday as I could see all was well. There were no fights, no old grudges to be settled, no territorial issues, just fun and relaxation. I left them knowing they would all just enjoy being outdoors. It was a day that was not exactly a clear warm Spring day. It was a threatening day with dark clouds that covered the sun and the wind kicked up a bit. We were unsure about just how long the goats could remain out.
I went out to check anthem and found it to be a lovely day in the enclosure. Luckily, I had my camera. The goats were broken up now, into their family groups, and box mate groups. I began shooting…

Poppy and Pansy enjoy the big rock with mother Frida not too far away!
I know this may look like an embarrassing photo, but little Pansy who is 8 mos old has beautiful little teats. She is after all a dairy goat. I must look at them.
Poppy enjoys this warm rock in the sun
Pansy and Poppy relax together with mamma Frida just on the other side of the rock
As the girls grow up, Pansy and Poppy want a bit more independence from Mommy. But as you can see Frida is never very far away, she is just on the other side of the rock.
Frida checks on her daughters ! What a good mother !
