Good Night

Good night from Punch & Judi

Cleaning Day!

Enclosure cleaning day. All clean cage liners laid down today. Punch & Judi love their soft fleece cage liners that I have made for them.

My daughter says I’m guinea pig crazy. Well she could be right. I’m looking forward to looking at fabric shops in London for some cute or pretty fleece fabric to make more liners. They are easy to maintain and are machine washable. They are also Eco Friendly with an absorbent anti bacterial inner layer of Bamboo.

Thelma

We had a terrible downpour just a bit ago. My girl Thelma was outside in her little pen. She had a top to protect her from drizzling but the rain came from all angles. My Thelma was cold and soaking wet. Not the first time she was drenched. Into the house, got wrapped up in a warm towel then a blow dry. Even her little feathered feet were soaking. She’s all dry and warm and will spend the night in the house.

Kitty Grass

Tasha enjoys her kitty grass I grew for her.

Áila

I can’t capture what this sweet baby does while walking with mommy. Áila loves to jump over her mother’s lead on their walk back to the stable. I think she may enjoy agility training. Hummmm!😊

New Enclosure for my Little Piggies

My piggies Punch and Judi have a brand new hand made enclosure.

My boys were housed in a beautiful rabbit cage. It’s a lovely large cage. It actually seemed small after awhile. They needed more space to be happy silly piggies.

My husband took my vision and made a wonderful enclosure. The new enclosure is not on the floor. It’s now on a table for easy access for me and my bad back. It has a great open space for running and popcorning. There’s a separate section for fresh foods and water. There’s another separate section for the all important hay.

They have 2 large hide homes, one on either end of the enclosure. Both piggies can be inside together, if they choose.

A main difference in their new enclosure, besides space. My piggies are now housed on fleece instead of shavings. The benefit of fleece is 2 fold. Soft and gentle on tiny piggy feet and if made correctly, has an absorbent lining to collect the wee wee. It’s also cost effective. Piggies wee wee a lot and changing out shavings adds up.

My boys have a set being professionally made by a wonderful woman in the UK. She uses the best non pill polar fleece with an absorbent layer of Zorb which can hold X10 its weight in wee wee leaving the top layer of fleece dry and clean. The cage liners are machine washable and reversible. My order will be ready and delivered to my while I’m in London. In the meanwhile, I have made my own 1st set for my boys. The liners, pads and Snuggle Pouches have an Eco Friendly absorbent layer of bamboo. Clean up is easy, just sweeping up little poopies. They stay clean and dry.

Punch and Judi are learning where to find all the important items like water, kibble, fresh veggies and hay supply.

I hope they will be happy in their new home.

You can see that as nice as this cage is, the floor space is limited

A daisy waterproof lining covets the entire bottom

The new enclosure gets some finishing touches such as a wood like covering to blend in with the furnishings in my office

A New Home for Punch & Judi

We got Judi first and his home was just fine. But, when we got Punch, it was clear that my 2 boys needed a larger enclosure.

Leif took my idea and went to work.

The finishing touches are going on soon. Not quite ready for my boys but I know they will LOVE their new home. They will be housed on fleece for their sweet little feet. Their first fleece liners will be made by me. Their real professional liners with wonderful absorbent inner layers will not arrive till July. No shavings but fleece which is soft, washable and economical.

Check this space for the complete enclosure.

ANNOUNCEMENT

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I apologize for the delay in making this announcement but our house hold has been a bit off balance with the loss of our 2 senior kitties, the Baby Girls.

My daughter and I have decided on a name for our little guinea pig.

Congratulations to Susan Rogers who suggested the name; JUDI. We decided to go with the whimsy. We got Judi a pal and he is now named Punch.

We have two boys named Punch & Judi!

They are pals from the same breeder. The breeder Carola was kind to deliver little Punch to us at Gullringstorp. They are adorable and so sweet.

After Punch arrived, the cage I had all of a sudden seemed too small for my boys. Leif has built a beautiful large enclosure that is now in my office. It’s still being finished but photos will be posted on my blog.

Thank you to everyone who offered names for my little boy.

Congratulations again to Susan Rogers!🎈🎈 Please DM your contact info so I can send you your prize of a FREE bar of Li’l Sis Eco Friendly Goat Milk Soap #guineapig #pets #petstagram #piggy

Heatwave

Sweden is experiencing an unprecedented heat wave.

I bought these cooling collars at a sale last year. Tasha feels faint in the heat and Max is just plain uncomfortable.

Houses in Sweden don’t have central air, as a rule. We have a portable AC in our bedroom and fans throughout the house.

These cooling collars are coming in handy!☀️️☀️️☀️️☀️️

Zooplus Haul

My order for my little piggies arrived today!!

Wonderful glass drip proof water bottles made of RECYCLED glass. They each have a tiny carrot inside to help you see water level. I bought 2 so there will always be a clean one available.

A fun wicker tunnel for my piggies to enjoy. We are planning to build a much larger enclosure for them. Currently they are in a beautiful rabbit cage but, need much more room to run, popcorn and play. It’ll fit well in the large enclosure.

Pea Flakes are a nutritious treat to be given as you wish. A morning treat or a bedtime treat. 100% Natural with raw protein, calcium and copper. A product from Germany.

I’m happy and hope my piggies will be also.
