Little Miss Nanna’s New Baby Boy Updates
Little Miss Nanna is a really good and really protective mommy. She has exhibited some unexpected behavior. One minute it’s ok for Lief and I to be near the little fella and the next she wants to attack us. She rears up and charges. She is not all that big as far as goats go, but she could really pack a punch if she connected. So I give her and her new baby some distance. She is happy , and happy being a mommy. She is on guard all the time for sounds that are not familiar. She is protective beyond any other mother we have had in the stable. Her tiny baby is enjoying his independence outside the box, where he can run, hop and jump and explore. He is just a little cutie!
Little Miss Nanna and her new baby live just across from the back door of the stable. This morning it occurred to me that I couldn’t get Nanna to go to the other end of the stable to the other door that leads to the “baby yard”. The sun was shinning right in the area just outside the back door and I thought, we need another “baby yard”. I asked my husband if he could put together a fence that could secure a small space for Nanna and her baby to come out and play in. We have 2 other mother-to-be on the same wing of the stable so this will work well for all the new babies and mothers.
I will provide a container of hay and straw and a water container and a few blocks for little fella to climb on in the new “baby yard”.
Welcome back for more updates. Keriana is next to deliver and she should be ready in this next week!
