News from the Maternity Ward at Gullringstorp
We thought Pumpkin had started her labor around 8 pm last evening. I think we misjudged her earlier in the day. It was an indoor day due to weather so there were all kinds of sounds in the stable, from both ends.
We left her and expected a long haul ahead before babies came. I prepared dinner, ate dinner and after dinner I prepared to head out to the stable. It was bottle time for Hilda’s babies, I collected my telephone, iPod and flashlight to check on the chickens. I had planned to spend the duration of the time with Pumpkin, during her labor and delivery.
Entering into the stable we were shocked at 10:20 pm to see Pumpkin with two beautiful tiny babies!
We didn’t feel safe with the babies on the upper berth so we decided to move them down where they would be safe and avoid any falls.
